National Clean Air Day 2022: How Impervia improves your project’s air pollution
What is National Clean Air Day?
Clean Air Day is the UK’s largest air pollution campaign, bringing together communities, businesses, schools and the health sector.
The annual celebration, taking place on 16th June is part of Global Action Plan’s Action for Clean Air campaign. It’s designed to bring together communities, improve public understanding of air pollution, build awareness of how it canaffect our health and what we can do to tackle it.
Why does National Clean Air Day matter?
Every year, air pollution causes up to 36,000 deaths across the UK. The World Health Organisation recognises that air pollution is the largest environmental health risk. Celebrating National Clean Air Day matters because it:
1. Focuses attention on air pollution
2. Helps improve public understanding and increases levels of air pollution busting behaviours
3. Showcases that a cleaner air future is both possible and desirable
4. Demonstrates large-scale support for clean air, giving decision makers a mandate to implement the system changes required.
Why do you need to think about tackling air pollution for your project?
Whether you’re working on commercial or residential properties, air pollution can pop up anywhere. It can affect people differently, and therefore can put the success of your project at risk.
For example, many factors can trigger asthma attacks, which is becoming a common condition due to increasing air pollution. Whilst it’s common practise for commercial buildings and high traffic areas to use carpet, this is not the best practice for reducing air pollution and protecting the people using the area.
How can Impervia Flooring help reduce your project’s air pollution?
Unlike carpet, which cannot be easily cleaned and sanitised on a daily basis, our Impervia Flooring is the perfect choice to combat air pollution for commercial and residential projects.
With no formaldehyde or other chemical substances that can contaminate home and office spaces, Impervia’s anti-bacterial finish is perfect for sufferers of Asthma and other respiratory diseases.
Although our antibacterial finish means it’s better than other flooring options, it does not mean it’s anti virus. However, due to its durable waterproof properties, it can be cleaned regularly with disinfectants, keeping your floor as hygienic as possible.
