Terrazzo Blue Stone Luxury Tile In Garden Room

Impervia is a perfect option for residential developments. Here shows a clients recently fitted garden room using our Terrazzo Blue Stone Impervia Tile IMP-8000-1. The tile was easily laid directly onto a dry self-levelling screed. Installation was carried out by the conservatory companies fitters, who had never fitted Impervia before, but followed the fitting instructions provided and took less than a morning to install. The Impervia tile is the perfect choice for a garden room, where open doors directly onto the garden mean wet dogs and children’s feet would be in and out in all weathers. Easy to clean, waterproof and hard wearing, the only difficulty was choosing from all the options available of floor boards and tiles.

This case study shows the resilience of Impervia in a south facing garden room (conservatory) in a busy Cotswold home.

Client: Private homeowner, Cotswolds

For this project the client came to us with a few requirements: They needed their new extension floor to be resistant to the daily wear and tear of a growing family, totally dog safe and beautiful looking, whilst also being cost effective and extremely durable. They loved the Terrazzo look and, while Terrazzo is traditionally made by exposing marble chips on the surface of concrete and then polishing until smooth – which can be expensive and time consuming to create – they found that our tile-alternative suited them perfectly.  The image shown is the result, a blue stone terrazzo-look tile from the Impervia luxury flooring range, IMP-8000-1.

The beauty of the Impervia flooring is that it is 100% waterproof, no further underlay is required, it has a nonslip surface and is incredibly easy to install. In these photos you can see the Luxury tile installed in a beautiful conservatory in the Cotswolds. This client’s new extension leads out to some amazing fields where the dogs – and children – love to get muddy. Fortunately, with the Impervia it is so quick and easy to clean any dirt or mud from the surface, and you don’t require any specialised floor cleaning products to get it back to looking brand new. As well as this, the waterproof system means the dogs can happily drool all over the floor without risking any damage to the tiles themselves. The client had this floor installed at the start of 2021 and was so impressed by the end result. To date, they have had no issues with any markings or lifting of the tiles, and have said they would recommend the product to anyone looking to ‘pet and child proof’ their home without sacrificing a luxury look. One concern that was raised in the process of selecting their floor was that the conservatory was south-facing and would be exposed to a lot of sunlight in the summer, and unprotected by central heating in the winter so they needed a product that was not going to be affected by this. Impervia is extremely UV stable, as a result of this the sunlight does not change the colour of the tiles in the slightest, and it also performs exceptionally well with climactic changes that may damage other products. Our Luxury Impervia tiles have been tested to withstand heats up to 68 degrees Celsius, meaning there is no chance of cooking this floor.
